Hiii, I’m Nicole Gheorghe (she/her), creator of Dope Yogi! I started this community as a way to help people live a life of happiness and peace through the practice of yoga, meditation, and movement. I believe that with the proper tools and support, we all have the power to take control of our lives and embrace who we are at our core with authenticity and love.
This practice has taught so much about who I am and what I’m capable of. To me, yoga is a practice of self regulation. It’s the observation of who you are. It’s the process of uncovering what’s already there within you, right beneath the surface. When we can learn to breathe through and be with the discomfort of what we feel on our mat, we begin to sharpen these mental tools and apply them to everything we do outside of yoga.
The teachings of this practice have shaped the person I am today. My asana and meditation practice have helped me through the darkest times of my life, and through all of the hardest days, it was my beacon of light, my lifeline, and my inspiration to continue putting one foot in front of the other, even when it felt impossible.
I want to share this with you because it’s important. I want you to experience the freedom that comes with loving yourself and feeling powerful and in control of your life.
Yoga isn’t magic, but it’s something that you can do regularly to make your life feel manageable and your body feel strong, and mobile.
I’ve been practicing yoga since 1997.
I’ve been teaching yoga since 2011.
When I step on my mat, I feel as though I’ve arrived home. I cannot wait to share that feeling with you!
Outside of yoga, I love spending time in nature and doing anything creative! I have an amazing husband who does all the video editing and stuff that is super important to keep Dope Yogi running smoothly! I write, read, cook, and spend lots of time cuddling my 3 dogs Bear, Luna, and Gnocchi.
A little bit about my teaching style
Over the years, I’ve been fortunate enough to learn from some world-renowned teachers, but my most influential mentors and teachers are Jason Crandell and Shiva Rea.
My classes are a balanced blend between technical and creative, in the style of vinyasa yoga. People say that my teaching style and classes are a unique yoga experience that leaves you feeling inspired and connected, strong and vibrant. I believe that the practice of yoga allows us to develop and maintain a sense of balance and clarity in all aspects of life, and I do my best to weave in a mix of anatomy, alignment, yoga philosophy, and creativity.
This is what I was born to do! I hope to have the opportunity to meet you on the mat, and share this journey. You deserve it!!
